Yesterday I used my " Track Day in an Aston Martin " birthday present from the kids.

What a car, the 6 litre V12 DB9 was fantastic it was glued to the road at high speed round the bends and accelerated like a rocket. A lovely car with it's leather upholstery and you sit in the seat not on it with a car like that and to think some people use them as their daily transport at around £130,000
Do they buy these cars because they can and because we can't, I must admit if I had the money I would like one

When I had finished I got beck in my UP and I thought I would be disappointed but I was wrong !
It's not that fast granted but it's got it's own little roar as you pull away, it's a comfortable little car that's quite classy for the price. I can honestly say after 14 months of ownership I still like and enjoy my car and would happily buy another one.
If I had lots of money then that's a different story.........where's that Aston brochure.

Definition of an optimist : Someone who thinks he can afford an Aston Martin.

I'm a big Aston fan myself so I thought I'd share a couple of pics. Those two DBS are from Quantum of Solace. I'm sitting in the broken one and the other is the mint one. Same number plates.

This is my favourite though

The definition of an optimist is someone who thinks they can just about afford to run an Aston Martin. Many people can afford to buy, but to run one, that's a whole different game

I very nearly traded in a Lotus Elite many years ago for a Aston Martin DBS, sooooo glad my dad made me see sense.

I guess most new astons are run as company tax-offset purchases these days!

MY manager used to work for Aston years ago. Got to on go on loads of really cool company excursions including the premier of one of the new bond films.

He said a lot of Saudi's would bulk buy them, in perhaps round of 20 or so and ship them all off to the Saudi peninsula.

Also, that scene in Casino Royale, you know the one where Daniel Craig has to flip the car because the girl is lying tied up in the middle of the road? They obviously used a number of cars to film that, however one of the delivery drivers reversed one of the cars off the truck into a bog which was just off camera prior to filming. I suppose they were cars that were mostly a shell and not fully kitted out, but still, imagine reversing your Aston into a lake. hehe

Being a car fan, I would buy one if I could!
I doubt it would be an only car though, I don't think I could deal with leaving that in the supermarket carpark at the mercy of other peoples doors and trolleys, I already park the Up! at the far end!

^^ Ha. Exactly what happens to me too. They just don't understand.

Do you open the door for your other half Fidel ?
She thinks you are being courteous but you don't want her scratching the paintwork with her rings.

The complaints tend to come in heavier when the weather is doing its monsoon impression ;-) (even more so when I take extra time to examine how well the rain is beading on my paintwork)
