I just sent this email through the portal to NAVIGON at this address here:
http://www.navigon.com/portal/int/kundenservice/faq.html?content_identifier=askQuestion
I urge you all to please send through your problem here so we can push for a MAPS n MORE bluetooth firmware update. This problem is obviously a safety issue for all of us as the idea is to make the cars phone connectivity HANDSFREE.
"I'm connecting to my MAPS n MORE device in my VW UP using a relatively new Google Nexus 5.
It pairs, connects, loads phonebook and plays music... the first time i pair it.
If I leave the car and return, often I will find the following DANGEROUS situation occurs.
Someone calls me.
I answer the call using the MAPS n MORE touch screen. (device connected)
I can't hear what they're saying because the sound is rediverted to the phones earpiece.
I nearly crash the car trying to find my phone to turn on the phones speaker.
This bluetooth driver needs to be more robust. You need to invest in troubleshooting your MAPS n MORE device with a range of new phones.
You don't want people to die do you?
Please answer me ASAP on ********@gmail.com and tell me what your going to do about this serious safety issue.
To aid in your troubleshooting in how to fix this problem, I have 2 workarounds which I hope you can use to understand your software better.
Resetting the phone's bluetooth doesn't work.
Turning off the MAPS n MORE doesn't work (as it only sleeps when using the off button)
Holding the power button of the MAPS n MORE device for 10 seconds gives it a hard reset and upon turning back on it SUCCESSFULLY reconnects to the phone and enables the sound to come through the speakers again.
The only other workaround is to delete the pair from the MAPS n MORE and the phone and REPAIR the device.
Both of these workarounds are obviously insufficient for safe driving. Please resolve this issue urgently as a multitude of people are also have this issue and can be seen here at the VW UP owners club.

Please send a similar email to NAVIGON via the link at the top of this post and hopefully we can get the ball rolling.
Thanks!
