the mini wheels have the same pcd 4x100 however have a very slightly smaller center bore.
the VW centerbore is 57.1 and the mini uses 56.1mm. the centres will have to be bored out 1mm to fit. can be done with a dremel at home but wont be 100% even, but it will do the job!
you can take the wheels to a local engineering place, they will be able to increase the bore size. will cost about £10 per wheel, just a case of finding a place who will be willing to take on the work. but can be done
The wheel alignment was out on my front left so I had to renew the tyre early (Few months ago) due to uneven wear. (I replaced both front tyres just to be on the safe side.)
Do you think I'll be able to tell if the tracking is still out by using a digital tread depth gauge?

Does anyone know whether the suspension components for the 90TSI and the 60 are the same? I know the GTi is different but are all the others the same? Same shock absorbers? Same dampers etc?

A couple of days ago I noticed quite a loud 'Squish' noise from the front passenger side of the car when going over bumps (ie raised humps / speedbumps, not potholes).
Any idea what this might be?
I'm thinking strut maybe...
One side rear drum on my wife Up was locked solid this morning. I followed instructions on another thread about releasing the adjuster spring.
To get the drum in the right position to release the adjuster wedge I had to give the drum a few hefty taps around the side, with a piece of scrap wood...
