I own a 2015 Up! (Take) whose Central Locking System appears to have developed a fault. I can no longer unlock the passenger door by pressing the unlock button on the driver's door ; I have to do it manually. I first noticed this a day or so after I had reconnected the battery. (The car was parked up for seven weeks with the battery disconnected.) This may be coincidence or connected to the fault in some way. Thanks in advance to anyone who has any ideas on this and takes the trouble to reply.

Have you tried re-registering key? There is a simple procedure in the manual....

And I assume the key-fob battery is OK?

Thanks freemansteve. The key-fob battery is fine. Is this what you had in mind :

  1. Press and hold either the lock or unlock button for one second. The vehicle should remain locked.
  2. Using the master key, unlock and relock your Volkswagen.
  3. Your key fob should reset itself.

I misread it and thought he meant "for the driver's door"!

In which case, maybe the button has failed, or...

Maybe try a system reset by making sure the battery is fully charged first and then doing a battery disconnect/reconnect.
