Deposit...? I placed my (fully loaded) up! order with my dealer WITHOUT a deposit. 3 months later my up! arrived, I took delivery of my new up! and still, no money had exchanged hands. Of course I did do a bank transfer for full payment the next day without any delays.Abs said:Many calls to VW UK and contact with the sales manager and they still refused to refund the deposit
I was prepared to put down a deposit but as the dealer explained to me, he (the dealer) didn't have to give VW a deposit for the order so why did I (the customer). He did admit though that if a customer wanted some weird color such as pink or green then he might need a deposit up front because it would be difficult for him to sell such a car if the customer reneged on the deal. Besides, I signed a binding contract for the vehicle, it was a done deal, with or with a deposit.Abs said:I'm sure in the UK when placing an order for a VW you have to put down a minimum deposit otherwise there is nothing to stop you cancelling the order at any stage and the dealer then having to foot the cost of cancelling the order or selling the car on -whichcan be very difficult if it has been ordered to a specific spec
