My coolant light has recently started coming on and flashing, i had a look last night and the coolant level looks close to the minimum, i just woundered if anyone else has had this? it had a service about a month ago, should the coolant have been topped up then?

Its probally the sensor in the coolant "box"(dont know what you call it)


Contact VW... and they probally just replace it!

Yes they should of checked it and if it was low then topped it up.
Take it back and give them a rollocking - although they will obviously say that "it wasnt like that when we checked it!!"

What will cause the coolant to drop? Or is it the obvious answer of a leak?

i was woundering this, it could just be evaporating and escaping through the overflow pipe or something?

A coolant system is designed to not let that happen unless you overfill it.
Even then, it wouldn't lead to having the coolant near minimum level, but around max.

Working correctly without external or internal leaks the coolant level should remain stable as its a sealed system.
