Already starting to think about dab in the up....what an omission! doh!

anyway, I've used a pure highway with external aerial for a few years, works well but messy with wires etc

has anyone any ideas re a better solution...streaming radio from my iPhone would work but the data costs would be expensive so am looking towards pures new device :-

I have already posted a few comments about the oversight of
VW in not offering DAB as an option. Like yourself I have the Pure Highway
fitted to my Smart, but again like you say I will not be transferring it into
the up! due to the trailing cables.<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

There are a few reviews about the Pure 300di on
Halfords website, most of which are very positive. The only problem I could see
is where to locate the controller? (some reviewers have stuck it to the
dashboard with double sided tape which would not be acceptable to me)

I'll investigate positioning once I get my UP.....meantime I leave the highway tuned to planet rock and in the boot of my car (where there is a 12 v socket) to avoid trailing cables....inconvenient if you want to change stations!

Thanks for the info. I too feel the lack of a DAB radio is a serious omission.

Nice to see someone shares my taste in music :))

Hi ya, dab on my current car was a cost option, now mini supply it foc.. I now know why, it's shocking! Poor reception and fm still sounds way better. Dab for home, car not so. Are the portable ones any better?

We have a portable one for camping the works well.
My friend has signal booster through her normal radio and that works ok but still get the signal dropping out.

Dropout is solved by a decent external aerial. I use a magnetic one tho car looks like a taxi then!

Might try a glass mount on the inside of the tailgate

If you did that,1) you would need a facia adaptor which doesn't exist yet
2) you would lose the maps and more functionality
3) yiou would need a different antenna

so, not a reasonable solution

perhaps the pure highway is the easiest solution or even the new one that halfrauds do

as far as internet radio goes, fine and dandy solution but only if you have true unlimited 3g data otherwise your data allowance will go in a short while and it will cost a fortune.

imho, there is no EASY solution but some workarounds....once I get my car I'll investigate.....
