VW have confirmed the twocylinderdiesel for the Up! in 2013. I can see maybe a £700-1000 premium over the petrol and just not sure if the Up! really needs a derv. Except forultimate mpg, the petrol does such a decent job and pretty fuelefficienttoo. You would need a big mpg hike or do big miles to make it worthwhile in terms of extra cost of diesel and the car.

yep the Taigun is based on the NSF platform you can see the Up! in the concept.

I would be verysurprisedif they did not launch it along with SEAT and Skoda versions as well. Think penned for a 2015 launch and around 10K for the base model.

I wouldn't mind a diesel actually.
But the cost of diesel down here isn't much cheaper... but does the extra mileage offset the cost??? Hmmm.
