Hello!

Had some assistance in taking my old hub off to fit a new one and said help managed to pull my O/S driveshaft out!

As you can see the boot is torn in half, the other half is still hanging off the car.

Just looking for confirmation as I have been advised that this should just pop back into the car upon fitting a new CV boot.

If not, I imagine a brand new driveshaft is in order - this will be the last time I ever spend money on this car.

Yes. It should pop right back in to the outer part of the CV with a wiggle or two. With a new boot it should be as new again. Your assistant may have been a little eager in pulling the hub away from the stub shaft on the outer joint. A copper hammer is useful for driving it out of the splines. Better than a tug on the hub. Think we have all done that at some point though.

Thank goodness for that.

Fresh grease and boot will be happening ASAP.

Tired of this car being off the floor now... should've taken it to the garage when it still had 4 wheels
