Hi Everyone. I need your help

I drove my up! through a large standing body of water. Way too fast and too deep than I should have. There was no apparent damage at the time. The engine didn't splutter or anything like that. But now when I start the engine, there is a knocking/banging noise as if something has become loose and is shaking when the engine starts. It goes away when the engine has started.

I am booked in for an investigation with the dealer. The car is still under warranty.

I have two questions

1. What do you think the damage could be?
2. Do you think it will be covered under the warranty?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

You might have damaged the heat shield or just loosened it. It shouldn't really be a warranty issue in my opinion but you never know. Good luck.

I also did this and the same noise occurred, when I put it up on my lift i found it was the heatshield.
