Thank you for your concern.
I am not a high mileage driver, so my cars do not get regular use, and i suppose i am fortunate living in a very rural area.
The Move Up is my workhorse, used when i do need to travel any distance, and the GTi is my play thing, designed to explore those magical B roads near my home.

The Move Up simply does not have the stamina or lung capacity to exploit the Trawsfynydd Bala backroads, or that magical stretch from Rhyader to Tregaron.
You need a car good enough to take advantage of such driving pleasures, free of any traffic, that's why i bought my UP GTi, and boy does it provide an exciting drive.

Just swinging by here. I haven't read the posts beyond page 1, but I'm pleased that all the keyboard hammering is here. Please keep it like this.

I've found the answer to avoiding the heartache of the war-and-peace: Don't read the thread.

I’m a little confused ...

You haven’t read the posts beyond page 1, yet see fit to reply to a particularly active discussion. In fact, a discussion which you started but to which your reply has absolutely no relevance.

I assume your use of the term “keyboard hammering” refers to people typing. They’re typing because they’re actively engaged in a discussion, about a topic that is of particular interest to them. Although I have no knowledge of your prior experience with Internet forums, I would like to point out that this is quite normal, and is generally the concept.

I’m also not sure as to why you would assimilate this thread to the novel War and Peace. Perhaps you‘re not familiar with the narrative, but as is often the case, discussions on internet forums do sometimes get a little heated when there are differences of opinion, and as such people at times display their frustration and emotions, which is generally acceptable provided it does not stray beyond certain boundaries and forum rules. To protect the general public and the reputation of the forum, the forum is frequented by moderators who seek to ensure that the rules are respected and will intervene or remove wholly inappropriate comments.

Indeed, anyone can read this thread, as many are, and are also enjoying actively participating in a healthy debate. You’re more than welcome to join us, especially considering the fact that you started the thread, although may I respectfully ask that before doing so you do read beyond the first page ...

Hope this helps.

Sensible thing would be to have it serviced by a good independent VW specialist, regardless of whether the car is modified or not. If your car does need warranty work then you're going to have problems.
thanks for the positive response.
I’ve chatted to my mates over at Revo UK and they may have a new file for the 1.0TSi later this year.

as to indies, any good recommendations in Scotland by any chance? Edinburgh and surrounds?
