Just been to give Arlo a little jet wash whilst the rain has broke till tomorrow and whilst I was giving him a littlewipe down I noticed on the nearside bumper what looks like a strap mark from the wheel arch to the bumper recess and it looks like the bumper has been pushed in.

There's nothing I can get a photo of just a change in the light reflection (my beautiful pearl paint looks lovely in the light!) dealer has his day off tomorrow but just emailed him and he came back straight away -they'll take a look at it on Friday.

Does anyone know if they pack the cars anywhere with maybe a strap round the back? Going to insist that it was damaged by VW, I know I haven't reversed into anything - I have parking sensors and if someone had reversed onto him, there would be more damage.

You should of signed a form stating that you were happy with the vehicle upon delivery, more so to cover the manufacturers own interests from damage in transit complaints; your salesman should of also inspected the vehicle upon delivery to the showroom as part of his handover procedure.

( family own a, non vag, main dealer franchise, so i know the situation quite well )

p.s. i hope it get's sorted ok for you, bodywork specialists are artists and you'd never know anything was ever wrong!!

I wasn't happy I was being harassed on the phone in the first instance and when they are giving you the answers, before the questions it was a bit annoying, very satisfied, quite satisfied, satisfied, not satisfied, extremely not satisfied, totally peed off (or answers to that effect). I'd forgotten half the answers before I heard the question

I know they need really to ask the question then ask on a scale of 1 to 5 how satisfied you were instead of repeating themselves

I hate that too, and couldn't remember what the question was by the time they'd wittered their way through all the options!

Zumba,
for the damage to Arlo! I'd be gutted if it was my car. I nearly threw a fit when I saw the recycling lorry pull up too close to my beloved up! this morning! I hope the damage can be resolved to your satisfaction.

I got a very small stone chip in my windscreen from being too close to a lorry (apparently according to hubby)! I was only doing about 55 mph. Was very cross.
So I can imagine how you felt

Had such a nice handover when I picked up the car, felt guilty I'd said so many harsh things about the dealers.

I just wish I'd gone round him with a magnifying glass but I don't think I'd have spotted it with the fresh lifeshine and the showroom lights.

We seem to have had this problem too. Only slightl bigger than a scratch though. What did you do about yours?

Ben I haven't done anything about it. It's very small and I don't believe it will cause me any problems. I would contact Autoglass if I was worried about it and let them put their magic goo on it

Been in tonight and there was some debate about how the damage has been caused, the dealer thinks that someone has rolled into it be it's on the near side corner of the bumper so mooted that one straight away I insisted that it must have been there before collection.

They said they'd have it in for investigation in August but then the Sales Director got involved and they're taking it on Monday for 2 days to sort and I'm having an up to borrow

Good luck......Arlo looked fine and dandy last weekend!

By the time they have messed about 'Investigating' they could have had it in the body shop and sorted it.......

I am impressed by that response. In a court of law you would not be able to prove it was there on collection, so good for them.

Well, it is a plastic mirror housing, and it could have been done after sale. To be honest I would have been cheesed off with a scratch in the paint work. I guess I am not so car proud as some here, given that it was a necessity for commuting, and I bought the base model.

Why thank you Sir, much the same as your lovely white one!!!
I suspect because I waded in saying VW had done it they wanted to prove it was something I'd done. Dealer said it looks like someone has rolled upto it but it's on the nearside so unless they've gone over a pavement that's unlikely and at home it goes into a space between 2 cars.
