I
took my High Up! - Black edition on it's first long motorway journey at the
weekend. London to the Midlands on the M25 and M40.

The
car performed much better than expected. I thought with the small engine
I would have to 'go along with the flow' but if you really want to overtake
oraccelerateinfifth gear you are able to. On the return it
managed climb of the Stokenchurch Gap really well. This is somewhere
my Fiat Cinquecento in the 90's
alwaysembarrassedme! We even overtook a new Renault
Cliocomingup the hill!

The cabin noise was less than expected and the 150 mile
journey used about half a tank from full. Another impressive touch was
when we were about 15 minutes from home on the return the fuel light came on.
The SatNav asked if I wanted to be directed to the nearest petrol station.

It's a cracking little car! It's just a shame people are having problems with theres i.e gear box or water coming in etc

Cabin noise is very impressive at motorway speeds easily matching my Leon FR. It pootles along nicely at 70 as well.

Noticed today the near side fog light is smashed. Will let you all know how much it costs to replace and how easy it is to replace.

The cruising is great - shame about the wind noise though.

Cannot say the wind noise in mine is that bad, my Leon suffers from tire noise so both seem as quiet as each other. Will be interesting to see how the up!compares with the F20 1 series when we get it in March.

I find wind noise very quiet, in fact everything is great apart from that bloomin noisy box. Ive done a few motorway journeys, just got 57mpg over 520 miles and thats genuine not trip computer which said 61mpg.

It gets a bit noisy at 100 mph though.

In practice I rarely exceed 60 mph. 100 mph was a test to see how it did.

I bet it took a fair bit of road to get to that indicated speed. especially if you have the 60ps version.
