The owner of the garage is an older bloke like me, so all my instructions on height were to just make it look right, natural rather than slammed or anything like that.

It's about 2 fingers height off the tyres.
Looks just right height wise

So, where have people used for their mods? Being a new model it’s nicer to know a garage has at least worked on a few.

Had my suspension and wheels fitted (including suspension recommended and supplied by) LVS here in Lincoln.

They're VAG specialists, who have also worked on my RS4 and 911. Their service has been flawless every time. And they're authorised Revo mappers too if that's your bag.

This wait for them seem to be taking an age, now all the other bits and bobs have been resolved on the car.... fingers crossed for good, haha.

The Billies can’t come soon enough.

Had a little lot at doing my Eibachs today. Popped the scuttle panels off easily enough. First thing that I noted was the top strut being 21mm, I've got just about every size of offset spanner except a 21mm, I could have found that out with a bit of research but just assumed I had every size that I might need. Halfords don't even list an offset 21 ring spanner online, however I've sourced a Teng one easily enough a few other bits of theirs too. Job for another day then.

Those who have changed to coilovers already, did you or your installer change all of the recommended nuts as per the workshop manual. The hub/driveshaft nuts are £15 each alone so the cost would be noticeable once all added up. Presumably a change is advised due to them all being locking nuts.

So after waiting for what seemed like forever since ordering in January!

This little lot got delivered the other day. I was surprised to see that the front and rear components are in the yellow coated finish, albeit this is not necessarily a bad thing with the weather up here and corrosion issues etc.

Look to be well made but none of the descriptions stated they were made up of loose parts instead of being a pre-finished unit.

Single adjusters on front and back with the front having locking grub screws. Not had this before either but sure not an issue.

Can’t wait to get these fitted now.

Looks good, what heights have you set that at front and rear?
What’s the ride like with the progressive springs on the front.

Are these the correct ones? as it says they don't fit the GTi but if you change the car to a 90 TSI it does... I was talking to the online help and he said no last night and they've since gone up in price ?

Bilstein make a B14 kit specific for the GTi and TSI 90hp UP models, the ones that LiamRS has installed.
I still have mine in the box, and they will be installed later this year.
For some reason Demon Tweeks were advertising them for just under £400, last September, so i didn't hesitate in buying them.

Unless you go for the far more expensive KW V1s which retail at close to £800, the Bilsteins will be more than adequate for the job.
They come in a very bright yellow and light blue matching springs set.

You could buy the Stance coilovers, and save quite a bit of money, but having seen a set, their very poor quality, and a winters driving would strip them apart.

Keeping looking around for a keen advertised price for the Bilstein B14 kit, because until i rang Demon in Wrexham, i thought their £399 delivered was a advertising misprint.
