Today I installed h4 low/high beam h4 bulb and have no problems at all. No error or blinding ongoing traffic.
Color matches drl color
installation took 10 mins. Waiting for led indicator bulbs ...

I have LED headlamp bulbs in my current car, and will be upgrading the GTI headlamps when I take delivery.

I use Sealight ones (available on eBay and Amazon), no issues with them at all, and around £40/set.

What brand did you buy locally? Are there any h4 leds that are legal in Europe? Even Phillips' ones are "not for road use" in Europe but the same units are sold and legal in Australia. So I guess it's the legislative issue.Edited by: Rough

I had a set of old PIAA low and hi bulbs, I think I payed around $30us for them some time ago. They look nice (for me)

Unless OME, retro LED bulbs are not legal in UK, in Germany you can't even buy them !
I have LED head lamp bulbs, much much better than standard, but fitted at my own risk, no dazzle but poor beam separation

I will send a picture of them later, My impression is that they are too low, and that is (I Think) why they are only sold in latin America, regulations here a lot more relaxed.

Guys
These are mine, posted on another thread (which I can't find), 100% improvement and obviously not strictly legal in UK
Dipped and main beam, sharp cut off, no dazzle, nobody flashing lights at me (so guess OK) plug and play, no canbus errors. PROJECTORS are what makes them work. Looks OEM

Hi Guys

Quick update on these as promised. Popped into my local MOT test station and asked them to 'adjust' my beam. They went though a full MOT beam test, a quick adjustment and said they're done. So I asked the question, ''You're an MOT test station, would you now pass these on an MOT: YES'' Result, no need to remove/ replace on every MOT 😁👍

Looks good!
As far as I know, MOT still only checks to see they point in the right direction so as not to dazzle - they have no interest in measuring lumens, power consumption, or anything similar that might contravene regs. It'd be another hour of labour to do more!

Hi Steve.
Yes, all good points, lumens* will be higher and hopefully power draw lower as its LED, but a legal MOT will do for now
* Can't be any brighter than all those B£+%Y SUV 4x4 that seem to blind you round every corner (just saying)😏
