I thought I had a paint problem on my bonnet edge. A white flaky patch. When I took the car in for some parts, everyone came out to look at it as I'd sent them a pic.

The sales manager says....I know exactly what that is, don't panic, pop the bonnet...

It was a tiny remnant of the shrink wrap that they put on for delivery.

Feel like a bit of a plonker now

Don't worry about it. I had an auto BMW. Pulled in to a service station so my wife could have a comfort break. When I went to leave the car wouldn't start and the key could not be removed. Phoned BMW in a bit of a panic and the nice man said "are we driving an automatic sir" followed by "is the gear selector in park". I put the gear into park and the car started first time. ˜¬˜¬

I had the same with a mini. Tried to start it and it just made a clicking noise. I thought I was stuffed and started getting into a flap and carried on pushing the start button. Click, click click.

Eventually I realised the steering lock was on
