We have three options for adding pictures to the site:

1/ The first option is if they are hosted somewhere such as photobucket.
2/ The second option is if your pictures are on another website somewhere.
3/ You can upload pictures from your PC directly to the site.

All three options are detailed on the next two posts:

Option 1: Use Photobucket:

1 Join photobucket -http://photobucket.com/

2 Upload your photos to photobucket following the instructions on the site. It doesn't matter about the original resolution of your pictures and when it asks you which size, medium or large will do for this forum.

3 When your pics are successfully appearing in photobucket, you'll see a few boxes underneath - one of them will start with square brackets followed by an "IMG".

4 Left mouse click in the box that says IMG, and you'll get a notification saying "copied" under your mouse pointer.

5 Now go to the post you want to reply to, and click on "post reply" in the normal way.

6 Type a comment for your photo, press the "space bar", and then right mouse click, "paste" to paste the line containing IMG into the post window.

7 Make sure you have a square bracket at the start and end of the line containing "IMG" otherwise it won't work.

8 Click the "preview post" button and hey presto, your pics on here for us all to enjoy....

Option 2: Pictures are on another website.

If your pictures are somewhere else, all you need is the URL to your picture, so something like www.yourwebsite.com/picture.jpg

In this case, click the green tree icon
, paste in the image address in the IMAGE URL box and click preview. Your image should appear in the preview window. Click OK to insert the image.

I know, direct image uploading will get added shortly. Photobucket is just an example though, any image hosting site should do.

Happy to make this easy Guys...

I have loads of hosted space on my servers going for free.

STEP1 - Just email me your up username and .jpg images [ make them say 640x480 pixels or similar size ] to

[email protected]

STEP2 - I'll load them to the server and email you back your active links to just add to your posts ;)

You just copy/paste the link as Dan explained above to get something like..

Easy Peazy !! -- Me and my kitcar 'Hawkwind' !!

The bottom banners are done just the same. I'll email you back easy instructions ;)

Excellent cheers, I've been hunting down a new web host that will allow the forum software to upload directly. Should get that sorted out within the next month or so too.

Why is this clunky method used - why no direct upload?

Please can this be fixed - I use 17 other forums and this is the only one without a direct upload facilty. Doesn't make sense.

Nice little forum though.

As mentioned above the hosting companydidn'thave the correct components installed however I've since changed hosts so this should now be possible.

Does someone fancy testing it? Seems to work OK for me.

Maximum picture size: 200kb. Each member can upload 100mb worth of pictures.

Thanks Dan, I will have a go at it soon. Right now though I am off to bed after watching England playing Sweden. Enough to shred the nerve ends. Why do they (England's Football team) not seem to have any "Get up and Go" these days?

They will certainly have to improve to progress against the likes of Germany and Spain etc.

Save the photos to photobucket and then copy and paste the link. I don't think there's a quicker way unfortunately
