I'd pay a good amount of money to have my iPhone directly connected to the Up!. Hoping that this becomes a standard VW feature, rather than exclusive to the Beetle.
The rear edge of the M + M is straight, forming a triangle with the top lopped off; whilst that on the Beetle is still a triangle without a top, but the edges at the bottom have been cut off as well. They are a different shape.
Nick is right. I can see now that they're slightly different. Shame! Nevertheless, it's feasible that the Up!/Navigon software could be updated to work with the iOS app for the iBeetle.
The stalks look the same, but note the base on the up! stalk only comes back as far as the vertical join in the stalk, whereas the iBeetle one is the full depth of the stalk.
