Is it just me, or do the seat heating lights come on a bit before the rest of the instruments and dials when you turn the sidelights on?

It's no big deal but I've noticed that everything lights up one bit at a time rather than all together. Unless my car is broken of course

Can't say I've noticed but I will have a look next time I drive my wifes car.

My centre console lights up in two stages, top half then bottom half. I think the dials are all together but like you say it's not a problem.

On the subject of lights and dials is the temperature control by electric motor for the flaps or mechanical as my temp dial is a lot stiffer to turn the temp up than to turn it down.

On mine the heated seat lighting comes on a the same time as all the other switch/heater control lighting, but the speedo/rev counter lighting comes on later.

Same as me then.

I wonder why it doesn't just switch on in one go?

I guess that two-stage illumination is an inherent characteristic of the Up since I, too, have observed a secondary delay in the illumination of the dash-pod after turning on the lights.
