A nice TSI 90, would be a good choice.
A visit to JBS in Chesterfield would increase that power to that of a Gti, for around £300.
You would then have a lovely little car with more than enough poke , and with dealerships wanting to shift all their Up models, due to Vws cancellation of all petrol city cars, you may get a great deal.
Can`t run to a new one even with a hefty discount,on a state pension now so have to take care of the pennies.
Hopefully the right used one will come along, there seem to be quite a few out there at the moment.
I had a High Up Tsi until I decided to go for a new GTi in June. My wife also has a Tsi and she loves it.
A Tsi is pokey enough without a remap, really surprisingly quick and terrific fuel consumption. Combine that with the lowest insurance group and what's not to like ?
You'll not be disappointed.
Just drag a pic to the drag 'n drop bit of the reply page...dead easy, ps enjoy the car...we are on UPs 3 & 4 and love them....my GTi averages 51mpg and I welly it!.......fun fun fun wee car and in some ways (especially £££) a lot MORE fun than my Golf R was.

Hi everyone, been lurking a while and recently decided to join. I've made this wallet lightening mistake before on a Skoda forum many years ago.
Anyway, owned my 2017 High UP TSi for 2.5 years now, recently tuned by APR. I know I don't need to preach to the converted but it could be one of the...
Hello, and I look forward to collaborating to help get the best from the car and the group. Good to see a well organised forum in place. For info just bought a 31k miles 2013 Up! (Take Up I think). I did not get a manual. All fine except there is a shiny chrome coloured 'ball' on the LHS of the...
Hello There, I am looking to buy UP and found one at a local used car dealer ( Move UP ). The car is 2013 with 91K mileage. As per dealer, It comes with full service history and is a single owner car. Asking price is 3100. I will be going to view the car tomorrow.
Any advice on what to look...
A new owner of an up! checking in from Australia - they're pretty rare here having been only sold for two years. I've read a couple of posts on here that have helped me with some things, so decided to join. G'day!
