Hello,


Little tic-tac has now covered 1200 miles, but for the past couple of mornings on starting and reversing out of the garage I have noticed a little burning sort of smell when I get back in the car after I close the garage door, that goes after a few seconds. I wonder what it is?

I have been switching the seat heater on as soon as I get in the car. So its still on when I get out of the car to close the garage door.

Perhaps its that?

Ive also been pushing the car a little harder on the revs in the evenings too..

starting the car then reversing will make the air intake (to the cabin) suck up the exhaust....it will clear quickly

try reversing into the garage tonight

I'm with Privatedoc on this one, plus "new" exhaust systems always smell a strange way the first few thousand miles.. I would not worry to much.. unless it keeps smelling

I tried it today at work a couple of times and no smell. I expect you are right about the exhaust smell.
I remember reading that the golf switches recirculate on automatically when you select reverse. As the up has a manual switch, I would need to switch it myself.
