Congratulations so far. We know each other from another german forum. It's interesting to join international communities.

I like your non-mainstream design of interior and exterior.

Hi Nordisc,

I own my (black) Lupo 10.5 years and have never washed it!

So I wanted a black or red up! (live in a street with many trees) ...

If a black leatherette up! would be available with red dash, I would have bought it. Everything in Black, Grey and White is a little bit too monotonuous for me ...

I chose my Black Beauty because it is "easy to handle" and "noble" outside but looks "stylish" inside. I am in a bad mood most of the time and hope, the red/beige/chrome interor will make me smile a bit ...

Black/Red + much chrome are also the main colours of one of my motorbikes (Kawa Estrella).

I may have the smallest car on car park of "my" company - but I will have the most beautiful and most stylish car!

The "Black Beauty" has nothing to do with the British TV series about the horse (as Germans might assort). "Black Beauty" is the name of a Ludwig snare drum which is also metalic black plus a lot of chrome ...

And in the end ... I am everything but mainstream myself ...

My up! has been built one or two days ago and is somewhere in Slovakia or Czech Republic (on the way to Germany) now ...

Hope the papers will arrive next week (CW20) so that I can register the car and get it at least early 21st CW. Have no time at all mid CW21 ...

It should be interesting seeing how the Up! compares to the Lupo.

I always loved the Lupo but ended up getting an Up! instead.

I have had my Lupos (built 12/03) for 10.5 years now. It has always been a brave little car. A "Princeton" with not many extras except 4 speakers. Good old mechanical side window winders, simple key opening for the doors, no navi etc. ...

So, the up! will be my "real 21st century car" will all these electrical things ...

I think my Lupo was built in Brussels? Well; now it is Bratislava ...

What I'm alread thinking of ...
My Lupo has a placement area under the steering wheel where I always have the key (about 5"x5") to unlock the "road barriers" to our company parking lot (I am always the first at work).
There only seems to be a placement area in the doors of the up!???

Was at my dealer's today (Sunday) ...

My new up! has arrived and stands in the "service area" ...

The Goodyear FourSeason tyres are already on (special extra by dealer).
Only the chrome protector for the back door is missing so far ...

Will phone my dealer if I can get my up! on Wednesday instead of Friday.
Thursday is public holiday in Germany ...

Could only look from outside - but here is MY high up! ...

Had a little worry about how the Salsa seats look in reality - but it's best!

Everything looks exactly how I wanted it to be ...

Very nice - front end looks different.
You mean the two "horns" left and right?
No, they should be at all (2013+) up!s ...
The "thing in the middle" is a typical German number plate holder.

My number plate will be "DO UP 2112" ...

My friend from Norfolk has already sent me a sticker with the English "St. George's Flag".
The St. George's Flag suits wonderful to the Salsa seats with red and bright beige.

Got my new up! today ...

Only has 35 km made yet (7 km when I received it) ...

But funny story already happened:
Had to go shopping (food) and drove to a discounter (Netto = Aldi or Lidl) with my new up! ...
When I came back to my car, a man (about 50?) stood there and said to me: "What an amazing, beautiful version of this car!" ...

Here are some photos of my "Black Beauty" ...

Photo is NOT made near a prison but the Dortmund Airport (barbed wire fence in the background) ...

Before I started to drive, the "St. George's Flag sticker" had to be put onto the back (gift from my friend in Norfolk) ...
Chrome pack plus the chrome protector for the rear door ...

A photo, made from my flat balcony ...

Red Dash and Salsa Red seats ...

At the dealer's the dealer told me how the reverse works.
I said: "No. I think mine already has the new function (since CW18?) that you have to pull down the gear lever to put in the reverse." I was right ...

Thanx to the up! forums!

"Horatius" has been my "car sheep" for my cheap cars since 15 years or more ...
He was also put in before starting the car for the (my) first time.

It is really difficult to get good / suiting images of the Salsa seats. The read seems to be "leatherette" too? I am glad that the front seats are red and the back seats are gray. I think that's style ...

I am still fighting with M&M and some other functions. Have to give me some time to find out everything ...

One problem:
The engine is "not loud enough". This venting at "2", I don't hear if the motor is on or off.

I also found some negative things ...
My Lupo had much more space and boxes for "little things" (money, tissues, CDs etc.) ...

Well; these are my first impressions ...

yes, some early UP! Black models were supplied with black wheels and white centres by mistake, just have a look on the forum for pictures of the UP! Black.....the centres would really finish off a black car very nicely..........

or you could get a sharpie pen

Oh, and silvervision indicator bulbs would remove the orange colour from the lights at the front....a cheap and worthwhile upgrade

I hope "Horatius" likes his new car, he looks like he has a big smile on his face anyway, so thats a good sign.
