Parents collected their car on Friday and noticed their first problem today. The fan won't blow hot air at all. So call to VW tomorrow to get it booked in to be looked at. Disappointing it has to be said.

That's a shame. Haven't heard anyone complain about that on here yet! So it may be a first

No, I did some googling and haven't seen anything reported. Hopefully it's a simple fix.

Should be an easy fix. Either a cable or a relay.

Most likely a bowden cable for the cowl flap... It isn't electronic in the up, it's a physical connection to mix hot with cold. Hopefully as simple as that!

Good luck and let us know what they say/do!

isn't there some sort of valve on the water supply to the heater matrix? I was wondering whether these valves are a simple thermostat capsule or are some modern cars electrical?

Parents had their car in today. It needed a whole new heater assembly (parents were a little vague on exactly what - heater matrix maybe?). Took the dealers 7 hours so a fairly big job.

All seems well now though.

Not such a quick fix then? But glad it's all sorted now.
