I would love to have a MagSafe iPhone charger mount for my up. But most are for vents, which my up has very little of. I was wondering if there’s anyway of mounting a phone other than the expensive mount for the infotainment thing. Thanks

What about a sucker mount on the windscreen? I have a 7" SatNav that uses one and it's fine.

The most cost effective and elegant solution (for my TSI w/o maps and more dock) I have found was to buy a magnetic mount and position it where the original mount would be:

If you decide to go with this option it's very important to buy a mount that swivels 90 degrees in to the vertical (as depicted in the upper image).
The adhesive seems to be quite good and the phone didn't even move by a bit while driving very aggressively.
