going to hardwire my dash cam this weekend, where have other users managed to pick up the two types of power as above (perm 12v needed for the cam parking mode)

any guidance much appreciated

(easy in the golf R as fusebox behind glovebox but where in the UP! GTI. ?)

If it is any help on our TSI i used fuse17 & 31.On our gti I used fuse 46.& I used a Cellink battery for the parking feed.Use a voltage tester to check these out.I then used piggyback fuse holders to connect up.The fuse box is in an awkward place to see what you are doing but there are some useful posts on site that will help.

Thanks all, that Aukey device is just perfect considering the Mish-mash layout of fuseboxes and really is Plug and Play....for £17 ....perfect !!!

The fuse layout in the up is a nightmare... I ended up having to get printout from dealer from my chassis number!

It's so weird how random it is!

I ended up testing for ages to find a good couple of fuses for 12v and switched!
