Hi

Just had to renew my road tax and there is no pain in this anymore. Unlike the £195 of my wife's Zafira, as we know the UP is zero or £20

So I paid my £20 and have just received the new tax disc

Amazing that it is not even the cost of a tank of petrol

Still loving the car after almost a year and the low running costs are great

It is pretty satisfying renewing the tax at £20 per year.

Even better is being able to take advantage of reduced car park charges for vehicles paying £35 or less for road tax!!

We're not that advanced in Derbyshire - I've never come across that.

You got ripped off if you paid for 'road tax' we don't have such a thing in the UK anymore ;-)
Eh? Gov.uk says we do. (Although I could well be wrong...)

VED is a car tax.

Road tax was abolished in the 1920s partly to prevent car drivers thinking they had a greater entitlement to the roads than other users.

Road Tax has never existed and therefore could not have been abolished. It has always been a tax on vehicles and initially the money so raised was used to fund the construction and maintenance of our roads. In the late 1930s the money so raised was no longer specifically allocated for highways although the term road fund licence continued to be used into the 1950s. Having said all that most of us continue to refer to VED as road tax. For the record I am pleased to confirm that I am no expert. The word is in two parts ex as in has been and spurt as in drip under pressureEdited by: Beevee

I have a BMT and The above is what I pay...

Fat chance of it being free here...

I believe the BMT and the ASG versions are the only ones available here...
