Kept the revs below 4k and only part throttle, just passed 1 k miles so have been able to start winding the speed up.

Running in gets a mention in the manual but its buried somewhere in the middle!

Hi Folks.I now have around 3500 miles on our Up and I did not labour the engine for the first 1000 miles...and kept the revs down, then gradually increased speed and throttle after that. I must say that the engine, transmission and brakes are much better now than when the car was brand new.

Taking it easy in the first few miles really does pay you back.

Our Up is as sweet as a nut now.

Pages 219/220 in the owner's manual are worth a read.

Go well.
