Does anyone have any experience with the Scorpion exhaust cat-back system? I’m aware that Scorpion only do a resonated version unlike Milltek who do resonated, road+ and non-resonated.
Specifically, I’d like thoughts and any pictures/videos for the look and sound if available would be greatly appreciated!
This Bull- X valve exhaust system for VW Up GTI is processed by TIG welding and handmade in 2" (51mm). It consists of absorption silencers, without chambers . Technical Details: - Pipe...
Contact scorpion directly. They were kind enough to send me some rough videos of their GTI exhaust in action but I promised I wouldn't share them about.
It looks ok and sounds ok - it's resonated so wasn't really what I was after.
I went with BCS in the end for their "anti droning" claims. It's really amazing. At certain rpm it growls almost like it's unresonated, but at others (e.g. motorway speeds) it quietens right down to a soft purr (quieter than when I had the soundaktor which I now have off) There is the slightest drone at around 2100-2300 ish rpm but that is easily avoidable.
Overall really pleased: here's a link to my post on Facebook after fitting with video of cold(ish) start.

Massive thank you for this. Have had a look at the BCS system on their website and am very impressed; are the “pops and burbles” available on an otherwise stock Up! GTI? I know that with other companies this only really comes into effect after a remap.
Did you fit the system yourself or have them do it for you? I’ll take a look at your video shortly.
I didn’t want a too over the top exhaust that seems a little lifeless such as Milltek’s non-res. It’s also supposedly very droney. I want something with a bit more meat without being OTT and also annoying.
I would take a scorpion over a Milltek any day and although no videos really out there I have read that they redesigned their original offering based on a forum members feed back regarding some drone and he was very happy with the revised system
Any reason for Scorpion over Milltek? Shame there isn’t any video footage that I can find of their system for the Up! GTI! I wonder how their resonated (only available option to my knowledge) compares to that of Milltek’s resonated and road+…
I've had a scorpion exhaust many years ago it was good quality. Milltek seems to have let quality slip over the years and just live off its massive name. I would email scorpion for some videos if I was you.
My days of noisy exhausts are long gone I think but if I was to get any system it would have to be fully resonated for me personally and even they can sometimes annoy....
I've got a Piper exhaust on my Clio 182 with a resonated centre and back box when on it the sound is amazing I chose it as one of the more civilised systems but it can still be unpleasant on a long journey at particular speeds 🙈
Massive shame, yeah. Thanks for the heads up and certainly worth querying.
From what I’m getting from people, Milltek seem to have dropped the ball a bit and are too reliant on their name to sell products. Scorpion being a much smaller, lesser known brand have more to lose so have it in their very best intentions to provide customers with the best service possible. I just need to hear the **** thing first! 😅😅😅
Sounds good to me in the video most aftermarket exhausts on these sound like a cherry bomb from the 80's. Less is definitely more when it comes to some things 😉
