using white spirit means that those parts not wont have sealant/wax. The simplest way to remove wax and most sealants is using washing up liquid and washing it with that.
Thanks for that. Next time I will use washing up liquid. I assume you use quite hot water to remove any wax/sealants. Do most tar removal products remove sealant/wax? White spirit at £1 for 500ml is certainly a lot better value than specific tar removers!

Finally got round to washing mine today, driven more than 1000 miles since it was last washed. Bought a big 5l bottle of Turtle Wax snow foam at halfords for £12, much cheaper than the AG Polar blast I used before and seems to shift dirt just as well - would recommend it :) Front of the car was absolutely coated in bugs, spent about 30 minutes on just the front! Used some AG Magma on the rear and lower parts of the car, so much contamination coming off. It's tidied up well but now shows the tar spots really bad, will be getting some tar remover for that
