How accurate is the speedometer on the Up?

I have a Shogun Sport and its speedo over-reads quite badly. Presumably the Odo too.

No better or worse than all speedometers. Not a bad feature to ensure you keep to speed limits.

On the standard 16" wheels, my up reads 3% high; so it's doing 58 when reading 60, etc.
I currently have 14" winter tyres and at indicated 70mph I noticed it's only doing 65mph, so nearly 5% high. I did consider getting higher profile tyres to get closer to the correct speed, but when I phoned VW insurance to tell them I was swapping to winter wheels/tyres they said as long as the rolling radius is standard (using VW recommended tyre sizes) then the insurance was valid for winter tyres; so best to stick to standard sizes.
