What a mess! Are they trying to stop people parking on the grass?

Yes, they are plastic and a total waste of time ...they have put them on the corners of alot of roads near schools and nobody even parks there because its a main road and a busy corner !!!! the school is at the top of the hill so the reason for them ???? wasting money thats all i can think of

Sounds like a normal Council thing to do and looks flippin awful.

Mind you, at least you've got a decent road surface. Our street is absolutely full of pits and potholes, it's a nightmare to drive on.

They might be o.k. on the edges of pathways etc.

But don't forget the idiot who drove over them in this situation didn't damage his tyres or wheels. If they had been concrete he could be forking out for new tyres or worse. The grass verge behind looks as if it is a place someone regularly drives on to.

Maybe the council thought the sight of higher kerbs might stop him/her doing so?
