It even confirms the dash colour.

Got the number and checked... Apparently it's "Being Built"

Emailed Paul at Harrogate Volkswagen to let me have the order number when he calls me on Monday with the weekly update.

@SiJ2000 If yours is week 33 build and it is shown as being built, I guess that the online system is not too helpful as a status check as that would be 4 weeks early !!
Maybe the 'confirmed for build' shows in this stage as well.

However, at least it should be accurate after build.

If you read the FAQ, I think it said that it can show as being built for up to four weeks before it is actually built... Weird, but time sounds about right as I think it is due for built mid Aug!

Mine was wk 28 and it still shows as being built hope it might update to next stage soon

Dealer says ignore the first bits,nwhat is important is the final 3 steps

I am going to just keep calling Lookers New Malden and they will have to just give me updates over the phone and maybe they will get annoyed and just give me an order number.

Tell your dealer there is an order tracker on the VW site and that you are entitled to your order number!!! my dealer just emailed it to me about an hour after I asked!!

The tracker is also useful for confirming that the dash colour got put in the system correctly.

Well I was given the order number eventually and did not have to do lots of complaining. Does anyone know just how realistic it is and anyone else had experience of how long it took from when the site says in Transit. I guess there will be variables as to when it was registered on their system as in Transit and when you checked it. So in other words mine says in Transit but that could have been saying that four weeks ago but I doubt that would have been the case because my build week was week 26 or at least it was meant to be and we are week 29 now. One other variable is where in the country you are, where the nearest dock is and how far your dock is from your dealer.

I am told that it shows being built for two weeks and then they update as soon as it is shipping.

Although I don't have an Up! I have ordered my Golf which I have been told by the dealer has been built & was currently on the boat as of 6th July.


I have tried to track in on the VW website using my 6-digit order number (as per my invoice sheet) but it is saying that it cannot as I must contact my salesperson for the number.

Does anyone else have this problem on the website tracking their Up!?

I guess from those, we can tell who ordered when relative to anyone else!!

The question is, how much of our order numbers should we give? 5 numbers?

I took PD's 3 and raised 1!
