I am trying to locate on the website the underbonnet photo and article on fitting sound deadening material and other strips to stop dirt ingress into the engine compartment. I deleted the photo and article in error twice and now I can't find it.
Serves me right.
Any help to locate the item again on the Up Owners Club site would be good.

I've been on this forum a while, and my observation is that people don't think the under-bonnet soundproofing makes any difference. Soundproofing in the boot area is claimed to help. Most of the non-engine noise coming into the cabin is road and wind noise I think - the underbonnet kit won't help that.

I'd say the same as above, although people that have fitted the strips do say it keeps the cr*p out of the engine bay.

Yep. If you want a quieter car, there are a million things worth doing first, before you start on the engine bay.

The strips aren't for sound deadening, but to reduce ingress of dirt and dust.

Indeed. The thread has somehow conflated sealing strips with bonnet-mat soundproofing !

I am going to get underbonnet stuff from my local VW dealer and hope I can fit the parts. Even if it does not reduce noise I expect it will cut down dirt getting into engine bay.
