Has anyone looked into the real time data provided by VCDS.

It has to come from somewhere, is there a App for phones combines with the bluetooth VAG-Com connector that can show you real world statistics while you are driving

This is for us Up!starts without Maps and More.

I can find various things taking about bluetooth adaptors but very little more.

Just thinking out loud while I watch the Spanish walk around the pitch while the Australians phone some mates to plan the next BBQ, because no one is playing football!

expected more from both!

As far as I've managed to investigate so far, there are three kinds of adapters:
<ul>[*]cheap ones ~10$, usually from China, questionable quality and you must disconnect the adapter every time you turn off the car - it uses car battery power constantly even if ignition is off
[*]expensive ones like http://www.scantool.net/obdlink-mx.html (used to be 2x or 3x the current price)
[*]do-it-yourself kits like http://ahdesign.us/blog/stn1170-bluetooth-obdii-adapter/[/list]The last two can be left plugged in.

I've tried briefly a cheap adapter borrowed from a colleague and Torque application for Android phone. It's fun to use at first but quickly becomes boring - there just isn't some particularly useful or important information that's not already available in the car. And one has to watch to road and not shiny gauges.

Such a system would be excellent replacement for M&M, you could display far more information.
