Hi,

Most of you know that the up! 2015 was launched in May 2014.
A "2015" up! has tyre pressure control. Black roof linging, sports pack etc. have been available since then.

From production week CW45/14 on there will be the "2015/2" version ...
As these are standards for Germany, "series" parts/changes will surely be all over Europe (also VW UK). I don't know if the "optional changes" will be available in the UK.

Changes
- NO more Groove up! (already no more available in the UK)
- NO more "Business pack" for Take up! (never available in the UK?)

High/Move/Cross up! new
- Series: 2 window lifters at driver's side
- Series: Mirrors in both sun shades (L/R)

High/Move/Cross up! new
- Optional: Hight adjustment for front seats

Take up! new
- Optional: Comfort Pack incl. 2 window lifters now
- Optional: Winter pack

I heard that the saftey belts fixing points will be 30 mm lower now - but this is not for sure.

I'm also told that prices are going up across the whole VW range from the beginning of November (at least in the UK).

Nice, i'm sure dual switches retrofit would be an easy mod for everyone. Let's wait for the first to do it!

I think tyre pressure indicators will be compulsory fairly soon so all the manufacturers will be fitting them.

EVER NEW car in the EU from 1st nOvember 2014 on has to have TPS.

There are two types of TPS; direct and indirect.
The directs system measures the pressure at the valve.
The indirect system uses ABS signals and other indicators.

The indirect system is not so good - but changing tyres is MUCH cheaper.
VW (and the up!/Mii/Citigo) use the indirect system. So, changing tyres will remain cheap.
Hyundai, Kia, Fiat mostly use the direct system. This means that 4 new tyres might cost about 400 Euro (or GBP) more than on an up!.

I think it will take until mid or end of next year until people really talk (and moan) about this.
It might increase the number of sold VWs (for private use) in future.

I am not convinced that the UP/Mii/Citigo use the indirect system.

Ford for 2014.75 changed the Focus from Indirect to Direct. On reading around the EU legislation indirect measurement is allowed, but no systems are currently sensitive enough to fulfil the legislation using indirect measurement.

BMW have also changed from indirect to direct on their cars.
