I was after just the toolkit with polystyrene holder for my Skoda so I rang the local Skoda dealer.
Yes its available for £57 which includes jack, wheelbrace, holder and screw to hold wheel in place.

Then I rang a VW dealer, just in case it was cheaper. Erm, no its not available but we sell a jack for £28, a wheelbrace for £14 and a toolbox for £22 but we dont know if it will fit the Up! They then went on about type approval being the reason the kit isnt available.... what a load of tosh.

How can it be so different

Hi, spoke to vw dealer this week about it, just order with the parts department. Like you was going to check skoda for price first. It has to be the same part hasn't it.

My VW dealer just supplied the kit in the boot with the car... lol!

Was that just a specific dealer being clueless.from experience of phoning around for Ford parts for example, every single dealer will offer you aseparateprice for parts. It pays to shop around. glad to hear you got a bargain though :)
