Just managed my first ever 500 mile tank of petrol!... ok, ok I was driving very carefully and generally rather slowly but I have been so close to the magic 500 very often but usually chicken out and fill up after 420-440 miles, this time the tank empty light came on at 498 miles and i drove a further 10 miles to the pumps!

I think I managed 34.7 the other day, might have even been more than that!

74.8 would probably work out about 69 true mpg? I worked mine out the other day and found that the margin of error was somewhere between 5 and 10%.

Question to every one: what is the biggest amount you have been able to stuff in the tank?
35.87 l (7.89 gallons), from "0 miles" before empty to first click on pump.

Wow! this is impressive. Although maybe that wouldn't be the choice of words if I was the one driving behind you

36l divide 4.5l/imp Gall = 8 Gallons

500 miles divide 8 gallons = 62.5MPG.

M&M display is MASSIVELY optimistic.

I managed 507 in June and squeezed in 35 litres which using the calculation of 4.546 = 1 gallon I decided was 65.9 mpg
