Hi guys, I'm going to order a candy white High Up! this week from my local dealer! I've been thinking about options. I'm definitely interested in the sunroof, what are people's experience of this?

I might be interested in the leather look seats too, again does anybody have any experience of these?

I'm leaning towards going to an audio specialist for a speaker upgrade instead of the sound pack as I like my music and am quite fussy about sound quality!

Would appreciate all your views.

IMHO, leather looks nice, but isn't very nice to sit on, at least in a car. It's slippery and won't hold you as well as cloth in the bends. Also, it is either too cold (winter) or too hot (summer).

We went for pretty much all options on the wife's Up!.

I really wanted the leather "look" seats, but got to sit in a car with them during a hot period over the summer. We were very disappointed, felt like sitting on plastic and were very sweaty.

Shame that VW dont offer traditional leather for a little more money. I just dont see paying what they ask for plastic seats as justifiable. Dont get me wrong, they look nice, with the extra detail,, but just couldn't live with them over the Hot days in the Summer. Presumably in winter you would have the opposite effect and they would be very cold and "hard". At the end of the day, I guess it depends what you have been used to in the past.

Sunroof for us was a nice touch and lifts the feel of the car.

Thanks for the replies guys. After looking at a lot of pictures on the Internet I can definitely understand what you mean about the seats being kind of plasticy. Definitely not worth the 550 euro being asked for here in Ireland.

I think I will talk to the dealer about the sound pack as others seems to think it is worth the money.

How does the bluetooth with the car work? I assume you can take calls while driving or stream music to the car stereo?

Hi there,
Would be worth seeing the sunroof in the flesh if you can, they call it a Panoramic roof (and it looks like a large glass panel on the roof)but the opening size of it is about the same of a standard sunroof you'd get on an old Golf.

Bluetooth yes you can pair your phone, then access your phone's address book and make/receive calls through the Maps & More screen, has a built in mic. Not sure about streaming music, not tried it yet but someone else here will know

Hi Andy, thanks ya I saw some pictures on here and it doesn't look huge but it looks cool outside and I personally love having the sunroof on my current car so it's something I'd find hard to go without!

I'd definitely suggest getting the Maps and More if not already included in your car.

The only music I listen to in the car is streamed via Bluetooth from my phone. I don't listen to the radio and don't have any CDs!

The sunroof is great. Even when it's shut you get plenty of light in the car which is nice. Also, the sensors are worthwhile. They're not really necessary on a small car but they get you other goodies like cruise control, a beefed up computer and also a visual display on your m&m unit.Edited by: Scrubnut

Definitely go for the sunroof. Great to let the fresh air in through spring and summer. Also looks great in contrast to white body colour.

Thanks for all the advice guys appreciate it :) I'm not too fussed about cruise control so I think the sunroof is the only option I will spec.

The standard Irish spec on high up seems to be quite good, comes with 16 inch wheels lowered suspension etc.
