I got a £250/m pay rise at work. So I bought the up Gti.
Waited 8 months for it. The payrise took 6 months for payroll to sort out!

I wanted one as soon as I saw the UP GT all those years ago.
I expected it to be released every year after.
When it was finally released I knew which extras I wanted on it.
So in 2019 I got a 5 door with sunroof in silver.
I have still only seen 4 others in my area
My partner who is many years younger than me drives a Volvo & I am 70 & much prefer the GTI.
When asked if it is fast, I answer it is "fast enough" - to have fun.

I have a Lupo GTI and love it
I have a 2012 High Up and enjoy that too
Longtime fan of VW's in general
I work for a main dealer so got discount!
2 other staff members at work have them as demo cars
I drove the first one we got here on garage plates, before it was even registered, and fell in love straight away!
With a remap and some Forge goodies, it's a hoot to drive and makes the right noises!
And still averaged 56mpg on a holiday to Cornwall last week
What's not to like really?

For me, it marked a welcomed return to simplistic FUN motoring as my Golf R and most of my previous cars were just too easy to drive fast and after the novelty wore up, were, dare I say it, a bit boring.

Had a Mii and loved it, SEAT never did an FR so I ordered a GTI as soon as it came out. Had it since Feb 18 and loved it for 25k miles. Just a cracking little car in every way, perfect for my needs and a hoot to drive if a bit bouncy at times!

It needs a map to fill the hole that appears in the last 1500 revs for sure. Warranty runs out in July I think so mine will be done then.
