As per the title, was wondering if anyone has encountered issues with the gpf on the Up! GTI. I'm still attempting to persuade the Mrs to upgrade from her Mii, but I've seen loads of problems with this on Ford 1.0 ecoboost in the new Focus but don't recollect seeing anything on the Up!.

A lot of owners are reporting they are getting the warning "Exhaust filter limit reached - drive to clean now" come up every few hundred miles. This only seems to affect the Focus Mk 4 which has a revised version (chain cam drive instead of belt) of the 1.0 ecoboost and no-one seems to know why, or if it is just a sensor or software issue.

Apparently the Fiesta also got gpf part way through last year but, afaik, without the other engine changes, and I have seen no reported issues.

I have a Fiesta myself but, fortunately it seems, it was built just before gpf was fitted!

With a GPF the expectation is that for the majority of drivers in ‘normal’ ambient temperatures (i.e. not repeated cold starts at -30 degrees C) the GPF should passively regenerate during 0% pedal deceleration (fuel cut) as gasoline exhaust gas temperatures are higher than Diesel.

However it does sound like what you experienced could have been an active (forced) regeneration. In the preceding days to this happening had you done lots of cold starts with little driving in between ?
