couldnt tell you unfortunately.... i have noticed how bad they appear though. i would assume that its gonna be from the underside of the car or interior, when you look at the underneath you can see the fuel pipe coming down then into the tank so i would try that.

 

Sorry not replaced flap myself,but I understand the way to fit a new flap is to remove petrol cap,then remove rubbery grommet surrounding the tank neck ,disconnect overflow tube then the whole assembly will lift out,then the new flap can be fitted ,then as Haynes would say reassemble in reverse order.As I say this is my understanding of the task but I may be wrong.Hope this helps. Unfortunately Haynes to not do a workshop manual for the up,neither does anybody else.Bought a electronic one in my opinion useless, difficulty trying to download then a nightmare to find what you want.
