- Updated with part numbers

Hello!

Well, i bought my up! without Maps+more because it was only available as a part of a larger accessory package. But now I've come to see that you can buy it as an accessory for the Seat Mii (and Skoda Citigo).

The problem is that my dash isn't prepared for Maps+more (the dash is solid, no "hole" for Maps+more). Is there anything you can do then?

Thanks in advance
Rasmus

I was fiddling around in my take up today and found that my dash has a cap on it covering what seems to be a port for m&m. I didn't even bother looking before as it was a demo without even a spare wheel so knew m&m wasn't gonna be there but maybe it has. Dealer def didn't hand a unit over on purchase and didn't mention it. Am I right in thinking if there was no m&m wiring there's be no cap and no metal port and holes either side?
Help please wise forum!

Have you tried removingthe cap to even look..? Me thinks if its got the cover then it's M&M ready.

Some earlier cars had the cap but no wiring under it, the cap just clips out so you could take a look.....if there is wiring....bingo! You win a prize but if not, the retrofit would be relatively straightforward as the dash is ready for it.

Yup, you are all ready to go by the sound of it.......grab the unit and stalk and the wonderful world of maps and more awaits!

Thanks for replies. As I said there is what looks like about eight gold dots which looks like a connector. Looks like I have got it then! Should I ring the dealer and ask where the unit is? I presume they have it!

Yes, you have it but where's the unit..? Check your sales contract, it should list all of the options which are included on the car. If it does say Maps & More then yes, run directly to your dealer..!!

Big thanks to Rasmus for this. I bought a Move Up! without M+M just assuming you could add it easily later (as you can with a Citigo). I've successfully done the retrofit this week using Rasmus' instructions. It was stressful, but worth it.

I would urge others to think carefully before doing this. I think I ended up with a dashboard hole in the right place, of the right size and the right shape, more by luck than skill. It would be VERY easy to get this wrong by mis-measuring or just slipping whilst cutting. It would also be very easy to scratch the dash whilst messing about with the radio unit.

My biggest problem turned out to be that I kept getting the wires behind the radio jammed when I reinstalled it, so it wouldn't go all the way back in. It took many, many attempts to get them to move back through the hole behind the radio as I re-inserted it. Any tips on how to do this? Also, I'm still not clear where exactly the cabling is supposed to clip onto the dash structure.

I don't think Rasmus said how he actually cut the hole. I considered many options, but ended up using a Dremel. I drilled a series of small holes, very close together around the edge of my guide line (on masking tape, as Rasmus showed) and then joined the holes using a Dremel cutting bit. I then used a grinding bit to smooth things off. This did the job well.

Without this forum, and particularly Rasmus and those who helped him, I'd still be kicking myself for not specifying M+M when I ordered. Thanks again.
