I had this on my Golf. It resets only by finding a space where you can perform this: First foot hard on the brake to enter the reset mode, then travelling forward at under 20mph carry out a 90 degree turn to the left, then keeping the same speed, carry out the turn to the right. May take a few attempts but if you get it right the warning lamp will disappear. That was the Golf, I assume the Up will have similar software. Good luck.
I do not believe you can reset this with vag com as I did try.

I did it when I fitted a new steering rack. From memory each time from pressing the brake pedal is timed. So you get about thirty seconds after a long press to complete the action otherwise it times out. After a press, move forward a few feet straight and then steer to the left as though turning left into a junction and then start steering to the right, as though centring again after the junction. It took me about five attempts but before each attempt you must apply the brake hard to enter the mode.

I had the vag com connected and it stated the only way to do it was to perform this test so the basic settings must be stored in the software of the car.
