I went for 45's crossclimate 2 and have no regrets. The thump has been minimised and after 25k have not had any sidewall lumps and bumps due to potholes. Speedo is 3mph under but I can use the satnav for that. More than happy with the results over the original Goodyears and the wear is much improved too.

With the Crossclimates there is a trade off with slightly more spongey feel in the steering when turning sharply as the tyres take up the slack but they are brilliant for mileage. Much better than the Goodyear originals. Potholes will still be keenly felt but far less so and with much less chance of tyre damage.
