Just walk into your local dealer with your V5C and ask the service advisor to print out the digital service record. They can do this from the reg number or the VIN. This will list details of all work logged on the VW system, ie date and type of service plus any additional operations and/or recalls actioned.

For privacy reasons, the printout won't identify the dealer that carried out the repair (unless by chance it was them), but it will identify whether it was a franchised dealer or an independent garage.

Also ask whether the car is covered by a service plan, as if the previous owner had paid in full for one, it may still be under cover.

Our family acquired a 2020 e-up! and a 2020 Polo last year, both from non-VW dealers, so it was very useful to get the service history printouts from our local VW dealer and find out when their next service was due (nearly 2 years later for the Polo!)

I suspect volsroise is a bot. Every dealer has access to the service history on VW's system - they print off the entire digital service history for the customer after every service and should be happy to do so on request
