Garmin Mount

I absolutely hate the inconvenience of the mobile phone mounting thingy in my GTI, so I bought myself a 6" Garmin unit instead. It obviously won't fit in the mobile phone holder so I've been looking for an alternative solution for mounting it using the standard dash mounting point. I found this, which involves downloading a free file and uploading it to an online 3D printing service: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3833402

Cost works out at about £40 depending on the finish you choose (I would go for polyamide dyed black and polished). Anybody tried this or something similar?

That's a good find! I solved my Garmin related problem by modding the original cell phone holder as mentioned in my earlier post. The cost was a lot cheaper than 40 quid, but you need decent super glue etc. So, maybe 3D-print is actually as better option? Looks pretty good to me.

Alternative to Maps & More for Sat Nav duties

Hi all. 1 week into GTI ownership. Loving it, except.... for the Sat Nav via mobile phone. I just find it a compromise and inconvenient. So I was wondering if anyone had found a dedicated SatNav, from Garmin, Tomtom or the like, that fits and can be powered by the USB? Thank in advance...
