Hello, i'm fairly new to this site, i've had a look around on here and found several threads relating to installing a passengers window switch on the drivers side but i haven't managed to work out how to wire up the new switch. Does any one know how??

I see, the passengers switch is six pin and the drivers side double switch is eight pin. I believe only two wires are needed to be run from the drivers side to passenger side as you say but i don't know which wires need to go where in the actual window switch.
As i don't have a double window switch i don't know how they are wired?

No, not on earlier cars, on the drivers side.
It was a big beef for most people on the earlier cars, and in (late 2015 I think), got a pass side switch added to the drivers side.
