I've had 2 sets of the wider tyres and both were under £400 the 1st set I got around £150 back from the standard tyres if my remember correctly so that set really cost me low £200's.

The PS4's just don't seem to wear out.... I would probably try the Asymmetric 6's next but at this rate the Michelin pilot sport 6 will have been released 🙈🤣

Worth waiting for a blackcircles 10% off day.

I watched the Volkswizard video and there is a good chance that most cars would have acted like that on that section of road and he did say how good the damping was and I'm 99% sure that car is not running on the GTi specific version of the Eibach's unless the owner has switched the front springs since the initial install?

I like them but they are very expensive especially if you don't want them in silver and they always look smaller than they are due to the design and the spokes not going all the way to the edge of the rim...

But from a weight and brand point of view they are pretty impressive.

The guy doesn't post on here anymore but he said they were the same item as fitted to the normal Up they later released the GTi specific version with a slightly different product code TSi17 will back me up he has had both versions. I think I had one of the earliest sets and the front springs are stiffer to allow for the wheels and the extra dive from the bigger brakes.

I am very OCD and I've even been back to his original post and zoomed in on his springs they are 30nm and the GTi specific ones are 50nm doesn't sound like much....

Until you convert it to pound-force inches

30nm = 265 pound-force inches
50nm = 442 pound-force inches

Are you not on GTi specific Eibach's? I am on standard wheels with wider tyres and the ride itself is excellent I think you get the odd noise from the rear....

I have thought about some silent coat on the inside of boot on the wheel wells as if you tap on it towards the back of the car it echoes like mad I wonder if it just acts like an amplifier but the actual ride for coilovers and the height it's running I can't complain about!

I would like to try some lifter 7x17 inch wheels just to know if it has any affect or not?

I'm very reluctant to touch the exhaust as my Clio 182 has one on it and even though it's one of the more subtle ones it did my head in but sounded epic at 7000rpm 😻.

If I ever had one the resonated Scorpion would be high on my list with the carbon tip...

I would want the car to sound a touch more purposeful but without any drone something that's not always possible 😬

I've got a 182 cup so no speedlines and I've seen a set on the Up and it didn't do anything for me personally. I don't want to drop to 16's as to my eye it can often make the car look like a normal Up....

I do love the standard wheels and half the reason I've not tried any of the 17 inch wheels I like is because I'm frightened I will look at my own car and think what have you done 🙀🤬😭.

But the urge to try a set is still pretty strong potholes are where those heavy standard wheels make there presence known but to be honest the UK roads have become a disgrace and no car will glide over a crater fit for the moon.

Well done for pulling the trigger. A 205 tyre will not be stretched on a 7inch wheel not from what I have seen.

The Speedo thing wouldn't bother me it will probably end up being a true reading knowing how far off they can be compared to GPS speed.

It may possibly help the car hit 60mph in 2nd with the slightly taller gearing ? If it did this would help a lot in reducing the time by not needing another gear change.... Just a thought.

A bit more tyre wall can only be a good thing re potholes and the wider tyre would help protect those very expensive wheels!

They could also being wider help with traction so it could be a win win.....

I'm sure someone will be along to tell you that if you over tyre a car it will be total rubbish much like has been said about fitting the 205 tyre I have on the factory wheels nearly always from people who haven't done it! Luckily I never listened 🤣.

As far as I know you will be the first to try it much like I was with the 205's that can be a bit nerve racking but you could end up finding something that then becomes the go to option 😎

I've had a look at that tyre size and a PS4 is available plus a few other decent options so it could definitely be an option worth exploring.

Hope this helps 👍

With a 7inch rim and et37 there is room for a spacer if needed if you were in anyway worried about the fit this is what I would do...

Find a friendly tyre fitter and just get one tyre fitted to a wheel and then try it on the car front and rear.

Good to get some advice from someone with experience of the car I've ordered a few bits off them on my Up GTi project journey.

Sounds like they will be on before you know it 😎 I look forward to your opinion after you have lived with them for a little while!

205 tyres are great on the Up!

Motec list 215 tyres on the TUV approval papers for the Up/Mii/Citigo but in a 35 profile tyre with et36 wheel so very likely they will fit without issue.

Maybe something I will try down the line if I ever man up and buy some wheels 🙀🤣 but would stick with a 40 profile.

When I put the 205's on in September 2018 nobody had done it I asked on the forum..

I only ordered 2 at 1st and tried them on both ends with no issues and straight away ordered the other 2.
