My parts arrived this morning with GLS:

Navigation screen:

It needs to be connected to car (as expected):

"Navigation arm":

Wiring harness:

There are three connectors (the third is hidden under the protective foam tube). Two antenna connectors and one multi-connector:

Metal bracket:

So this afternoon I started installing the kit!

Preparing for the cut:

Getting close:

The cover plate fits!:

The metal bracket clicks right into the hooks (hooks are molded into dash):

From above. Hole isn't finished yet, still a bit rough:

A picture is missing here. The wiring harness is pulled through the hole and the connector plate is fitted with two torx T20 screws.

Now the navigation arm can be clicked right into place:

Antenna is connected to the "hidden" wire. The antenna runs through the navigation:

The harness comes with fasteners which clicks right onto the dash:

The multi connector clicks right into place:

Fit the radio and re-assemble the dash .... aaaand TA-DAAAA:

Can't wait to go for a spin now!

Big thanks to b82ry, Stainless and gary02tdi

That's all for now - hope you can use the guide

The Navigon M&M is actually connected to the vehicle's antenna..?! I thought it was like all other aftermarket satnavs and used a built-in antenna for satellite reception. So now I'm wondering how the thing is working when used in pedestrian mode..???

I expect that during testing, you must have switched on the ignition with the Airbag Off light disconnected... have done that in my EOS when fitting phone system! Easy one to clear with diagnostic tool!

Top guide....mods, this has to be archived as I'm sure plenty of others will want to read it in the future

Well done Rasmus.M&m makes driving fun!

Maybe there is a market (albeit small) for a template to help with the cutting ?

However it does annoy me that the VW product managers decided to save a few pence by not supplying the hole, cover, wire and metal bracket, after all the cheaper brands did !!

That way they could have marketed it as an accessory and supplied the M&M and stand (or even included it on special offers like the cheaper brands !!)

You're absolutely correct, what a doofus I am! Thank you very much for your help :)

Re <<Thank god the new batch of new up's come with predrilled hole ;) >>

That is good that they come with the hole in Denmark now, has anyone seen that on any of the recent UK cars without M&M ?
Note that each Country and Brand is responsible for it's own specification !!

The two UP's at the dealer I saw both don't have the hole... I agree that it's a bit daft, they should cut the hole, but put a blanking plate on it like the bit above the radio which has the gaps for extra buttons, but are blanked offas applicable in lower specs...
